Professional footballer Steve Lennon has been playing the game since childhood and professionally since the age of 16. Now in his thirties, staying consistent through training, matches and recovery is part of the job. Unbroken has been part of that routine for the past two years, helping him recover and stay ready to perform day after day.
Part of the routine
For Steve, getting ready for training or a match isn't about complicated rituals. It's about having a routine and remembering the things he knows he needs to do.
Unbroken is one of them.
“Make sure I get Unbroken into the system.”
Steve takes Unbroken three times a day: in the morning, before training and afterwards. After two years of using it consistently, he says the difference in his recovery has been significant.
“The recovery benefits are second to none.”
For a professional footballer, being able to recover and go again matters. Training sessions and matches follow one another throughout the season, and Steve sees recovery as part of maintaining his performance.
“Since I started using it two years ago, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my ability to go full force every day.”
Knowing what you're taking
For Steve, there is another important consideration when choosing sports nutrition: knowing what is in the products he takes.
Unbroken is Informed Sport tested, something Steve specifically highlights as important for professional players.
“It’s really important as a player. I know that Unbroken is tested by Informed Sport. It’s really important as a player to know that every product is safe that you're taking.”
For athletes competing professionally, confidence in the products they use is an essential part of their routine.
Recovery doesn't always mean stopping
A recovery day doesn't necessarily mean sitting still for Steve.
Away from football, he enjoys golf and regularly heads out for a round the morning after a game. Eighteen holes can mean around four hours of walking, and Unbroken comes with him.
“Then I feel refreshed for practice later on.”
Steve takes Unbroken before heading out, plays his 18 holes and then gets ready to return to football.
It's a different kind of recovery day, but one that reflects how Steve likes to stay active and how naturally Unbroken has become part of his routine.
A match finished. Eighteen holes walked. Then back to training.
Ready to go full force again. Ready for what’s next.
